Living on the River

For the past year, we’ve lived on the river in Long Branch. It was one of the selling points of the house. We knew we’d see geese and ducks but we didn’t know how many other kinds of birds would come through. We even have swans and an osprey!

We hung a bird feeder to provide a living tableau for the cats. That has brought the dreaded morning doves. Sparrows, cardinals, robins, and many more do not bother the cats at all, but the MORNING DOVES are enemy #1 for all four felines. Their tails twitch, they make that chittering noise that cats make when they’re upset, and they bat at the windows whenever the doves appear.
