HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We had dinner at home (isn’t it funny how the house you grew up in will always be HOME?) last night for New Year’s Eve. I stopped at an Italian Deli (Jimmy Pecci’s Taste of Italy) for a smorgasbord of lots of lovely food. They make their own sausage with cheese and parsley that is soooo good that worked for the ones who don’t like tomato sauce. For the lovers of all things red in our family, I got some lasagna, manicotti, and meatballs. A loaf of fresh Italian bread and a ball of fresh mozzarella rounded out the meal. At the deli, they were so helpful, giving me lots of extra sauce and even carrying the bags to the car for me. They have a family atmosphere that make it worthwhile, for me, to pay a little extra for the food.

I love to cook but sometimes it’s really nice to have the only job be to heat stuff up, especially when there are those that do it so much better than you! So we had one of those family meals that last for a couple of hours, with lots of good food and good talking! What better way to ring in the new year?
